Radio Silence.

 I did not leave a message when you sent me to voicemail. . . I did not know what to say. 

But the next time, when there was radio silence - I did. 

You did not respond to my text. 

You never did return my call. 

Radio silence. 

It's your communications officer - at least that's what I used to be

Calling into the commander - do you read me? 

Radio silence. 

I'm walking this journey. . . what is the lesson of the pathway?

But in the walking, when there is radio silence - I ponder Christ. 

I'm here again, Lord. 

Crying out once more - do you read me? 

Radio silence.

Yet, in the darkest moment of history

"Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” ("My God, My God, Why have you forsaken me?") 

When God was doing the greatest acts in history - Radio silence. 

How could I expect any more? 

Teach me the lesson of "lema sabachthani" 

Teach me the lesson of radio silence - that causes me to listen all the more

Never let me lose "Eloi" 

Never let me lose my grasp - I'll cling to you all the more
